In the desert, a bawri (बावड़ी) is where the village gathered. You climbed down — past the heat, past the noise — into shade, water, and conversation. Some are eight stories deep. Some are a thousand years old. All of them are still cooler than the world above.

Our café is a small one. A few steps from a Jodhpur lane into earth-red walls, low cushions, slow drinks, and music that doesn't rush you. The name is the concept. The room does the rest.
Sit low.
Stay long.

The evening menu starts when the lamps come on.
Built around the desert palette — saffron, rose, cumin, cardamom, khus. Each in its own vessel, because no two should be poured into the same glass.

A small courtyard haveli, a few streets back from the clock tower. We kept the arches, the carved teak, the texture on the walls. We removed almost everything else.
Specialty coffee, chai, signature cold drinks. Single-origin where it matters, hand-pulled where it counts.
A house cordial used in two signatures. Always optional, always disclosed, never the point. Heritage, not headline.
One night a month — a sitar set, a film screening, a print sale by a local artist. Doors open at sundown.
A small rack near the door. Bawri tees, indigo overshirts, block-printed totes. Made in Jodhpur, sold here first.
We don't take walk-ins after 7pm on weekends — the room is small, and we'd rather you sit down than wait at the door. Reserve a table; we'll have a candle lit.
